Continents list
|
|
Use this page as the starting point
to browse Ethnoarch's connected
databases of countries, groups,
types, models and images. This division
in continents is rather general,
separating the globe in five, as
opposed to seven or eight continents.
It combines a geographic (or geologic)
criteria with a geo-political
(or cultural) one, as continents
are understood as those uninterrupted
blocks of land as the Americas, Africa
and Oceania (Australia and neighbouring
islands) are. But it divides the
remaining block of land which is
Eurasia using a more geo-political
criteria. However, the limitations
of this mixed division are highly
compensated with how it simplifies
for this particular project the classification
of buildings.
•
Click on the continent name for a
list of the countries and territories
belonging to that continent. From
that page, you can go
to a description of and info on
the country'e ethno-architecture,
and also you can check a list
of groups belonging to that
country.
